I'd like to think this wonderful old handmade loom was use to weave many a thing prior to being abandoned with this partially finished project still on it

which are nailed  into the bottom edge of the wood

It was welded together of cut tin

but a really great rose I this it is

William's method was a highly influential and widely adopted one though one not infrequently sees old charcoal and graphite drawings done by students in academy following the instruction on these very pages. And in fact it was fairly recently reprinted by Windham press available in paper back or as an e book!
