Early 20th-Century Wooden Cabbage or Kraut Cutter coats Exhibits minor signs of wearc. 1910s 1930s; American or Central European Origin Large hand operated kraut cutter featuring a hardwood frame with dual steel blades set at a steep cutting angle and secured by iron wing nuts. The integrated sliding box guided the cabbage head along the sharpened edge, allowing for consistent, fine shredding an indispensable kitchen or small farm tool before mechanical slicers came into use. The dovetail joinery, iron hardware, and aged patina
